The Fortnite servers tend to go down every now and now, and this can be a rather disruptive experience.

Fortnite frequently experiences maintenance downtimes during patches and game updates. These, unfortunately, often leave the servers temporarily unavailable.
Besides this, there are occasional crashes and game issues that result in the servers being out of service for an unknown amount of time.
To help you figure out if there is a legitimate issue affecting the Fortnite servers, we've put together a guide going over all the ways you can check on the game's server status and how you can solve them.
Are Fortnite's Servers Down?
No, Fortnite is not down at the moment. The last maintenance break occurred on August 12, when the Chapter 6 Season 4 Shock 'N Awesome balance adjustments were made live.
You should be able to launch the game and jump into a match without encountering any issues.
How to Check Fortnite's Server Status

There are two ways you can check Fortnite's server status. This includes visiting:
Epic Games' Public Status website is a reliable place to check the server status of any service available in Fortnite, ranging from anything between regular matchmaking to LEGO Fortnite.
You can usually expect Epic Games to inform the community of any incoming update that may affect the status of the Fortnite servers. This should help you prepare for any potential downtime.
How to Fix Connection Issues in Fortnite

Sometimes, there may not be an issue present with Fortnite, and, instead, the problem may be with your connection to the game's servers. Fortunately, there are a handful of good ways you can resolve this.
The first action we recommend is to check your internet connection. If there's a problem, you should restart your router and reconnect to it. Or, if possible, you should connect to another internet connection.
If your internet connection is stable, there may be an issue with the application on your device. In this case, you should clear the application's cache (either by going to the cache settings or restarting your device entirely). You should also check if the game has been updated to its latest version.
If all else fails, we strongly suggest you contact Epic Games Support. They should be able to resolve whatever connection issues you have.
