The spooky Rune is here to jump-scare you on the field.
Rune is a mysterious frontal attacker in Omega Strikers with the ability to warp the flow of time by teleporting across the map and removing players from the field.
With a normal upbringing, good grades, and an amazing family, Rune was bored with the future laid out before him.
He wanted nothing more but to be anything other than normal. He began to experiment with the paranormal and eventually got in too deep.
Rune and his friend did a ritual one day and summoned power from a realm called Obscura.
The energy reached out and engulfed Rune's friend. Rune then bargained with the power in exchange for his life his friend was brought back to life.
Now Rune has a powerful dark energy that is attached to him at all times, demanding him to do certain things, good or bad. As of now, the power wants him to enter the Pro Leagues for Omega Strikers.
Rune's Abilities & How To Play
Here's a look at Rune's abilities:
- Shadow Swap: On round start, place your shadow at your location. On cast, become Elusive and quickly travel to your shadow, swapping places with it and leaving an Unstable Anomaly from where you departed.
- Unstable Anomaly: Conjure an expanding anomaly. If it reaches the maximum size, it solidifies and continually hits enemies from it. Otherwise, it dissipates on hitting an enemy.
- Banish: Launch a shadow wave that banishes, slows, and damages enemies for1.75s. Banished enemies cannot be targeted or interacted with.
Rune is a unique character to play. There aren't any other strikers quite like him. Rune is centred around being sneaky and controlling positions on the battlefield with his Shadow and teleporting around the map.
A good Rune will make sure to get Unstable Anomaly up as soon as possible. If the opponent isn't aware of how it works, then ideally, it will go up for free.
But, all an enemy needs to do to stop the Unstable Anomaly from happening is to get hit by it.
Ideally, a good Rune player will be using Shadow Swap from as many places as they can, hitting enemies and causing confusion on the battlefield.
If an Unstable Anomaly is able to become solid, great! If not, all of these teleportation moves can be used to get a good angle on the opponents and hit them with Banish.
Once Banish is off CD, you are going to want to make sure to launch it ASAP. It's extremely powerful!
