All Niantic Mobile Games Ranked From Best to Worst

1-5

Think of AR mobile games and you'll most likely think of Niantic.

Peridot Niantic

5. Peridot

Peridot is one of the latest mobile games to be released by Niantic, and unfortunately, it has failed to establish itself as a good game. It's a pet-raising AR game (very similar to Pokémon GO, but the pets are called Dots) with a unique art style and intuitive UI. However, players often report that the game suffers from issues such as overheating, the app crashing, and random bugs. If it weren't for these tech-related problems, we'd be happy to place it higher up the rankings.

Pikmin Bloom

4. Pikmin Bloom

Pikmin Bloom is quite an enjoyable game if you appreciate getting rewarded for walking in real life. Meet new friends, known as Pikmin, and complete weekly challenges by yourself or with friends from around the world. As much fun as the game can be, it honestly feels more like a fitness companion app than it does a mobile game. What we mean by this is that the gameplay is more passive, rather than you sitting down and actively playing the game.

Ingress Prime

3. Ingress Prime

Ingress Prime may not be as popular as Niantic's other mobile games, but it delivers the core AR experience quite well. As for the gameplay, it's a team-based game where territory control lies at the heart of how well your faction performs globally. The game means it when they say "The world is your game". Strategize with your teammates if you want to win and control territory. Overall, it offers good times, but recent updates have made the game a little worse off.

Monster Hunter Now Game

2. Monster Hunter Now

Based on Capcom's hugely popular fantasy RPG series of a similar name, Monster Hunter Now offers a gameplay experience you're probably familiar with, but this time, it's set in the real world due to the AR system. Hunt familiar monsters in real-time battles using a variety of powerful weapons. We appreciate Niantic's dedication to the source material and how engaging and strategic the combat mechanics are. On the other hand, the pay-to-win mechanics can be a bummer at times.

Pokemon Go Game

1. Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO is arguably the most popular title from Niantic's game catalog. Since its release back in 2016, the game has revolutionized location-based gaming and the AR system. The simple gameplay of discovering Pokémon (and capturing them to add to your Pokédex), teaming up with other Trainers, and taking part in Gym battles makes for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Combine all of this with the fact that it is based on a world-renowned IP, and you've got a game that has been played by hundreds of millions of people.

1-5

Niantic is a software development company that is best known for its ability to create some incredibly immersive mobile games thanks to its use of augmented reality (AR). It burst onto the scene due to the frenzied hype that came after they released Pokémon GO.

Over the years, Niantic has produced some pretty spectacular games that capitalize on its unique AR system. While we can commend them for sticking to what they're known for, we've got to admit that some of their titles are better than others. To help you figure out which of Niantic's games are worth playing, we've tested them all out and ranked them in order of best to worst.
