One of the most anticipated MMOs from NCSoft, Throne and Liberty, is finally heading towards its October 1st global launch, with the game's early access starting from September 27, 2024, making many mobile players wondering whether the game is available for Android and iOS platforms.
Following the footsteps of many other MMOs, Throne and Liberty's development was not smooth, and the game has undergone many changes. Initially, the title was supposed to get a mobile port, but later, it was canceled.
However, in May 2024, the idea of bringing Throne and Liberty on mobile was brought back to life—thus raising the question again—whether will Throne and Liberty released on mobile?
Is There A Throne And Liberty Mobile Version?
When writing this article, a few officials working at NCSoft confirmed to the Korean News outlet MTN about a potential Throne and Liberty Mobile comeback based on the game's performance on PCs and consoles in Korea and globally.
When Throne and Liberty was announced, the original plan was to port the game to the mobile platform. But later, the idea was scrapped, and the main focus was the PC and console release.
But after Producer Jong-wook Ahn resigned, the idea of bringing Throne and Liberty on mobile, similar to Lost Ark, has gained momentum.
Here's what some of the officials from NCSoft said to MTN about Throne and Liberty Mobile:
I understand that 'TL' will also be produced as a mobile version. We are first seeking a rebound with domestic service and overseas expansion, and we are currently devising a roadmap to expand the platform to mobile like 'Lost Ark.'
Another official said,
It is true that we are actively reviewing the development of a mobile version of 'TL', but it is not at the stage where we can say it has been decided yet.
We need to expand the service overseas first, and only then can we secure the momentum to expand to the mobile platform once we see some results.
While Throne and Liberty Mobile has not yet been officially confirmed, if the global launch is successful, we might get to hear more on this from NCSoft.
