You and your friend will play as Maki and Omura, a pair of space adventurers who must navigate strange intergalactic worlds to save their home from a cosmic storm. 9. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Release Date: September 18, 2026.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight brings the Caped Crusader back for another adventure filled with a bunch of humor and action. Using Unreal Engine 5, the game features characters (like Catwoman and Jim Gordon), vehicles, and all-out blocky action. It also has a lot of puzzle-solving sequences, subtle references, and plenty of collectibles hidden throughout Gotham City. The graphics look incredible, too. Maybe it's the nostalgia influencing what we'll say next, but we just know this game will be simply lovely on the Nintendo Switch 2.

7. Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Release Date: September 25, 2026.
Capcom's legendary samurai action-adventure series is making a dramatic return with Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It's actually the first major installment in the franchise since 2006's Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. Set in Edo-period Kyoto, this upcoming game features intense swordplay, supernatural enemies, and cinematic storytelling. You follow the story of a samurai who wields a mystical artifact known as the Oni Gauntlet. From what we've seen so far, the visuals are impressive, and a lot of the brutal action feels pretty similar to Ghost of Tsushima.

6. Rayman Legends Retold
Release Date: October 1, 2026.
Rayman Legends Retold is a "reimagining" — as Ubisoft describes it — of 2013's Rayman Legends. The remake promises to be a refreshing take on the game, as it features new content, narrative twists, and a slate of improvements to its performance and visuals. Personally, we're big fans of the series, which has left its mark on the side-scrolling platformer genre, so this game is somewhat of a no-brainer for us. It's the kind of platforming adventure that never seems to lose its charm, no matter how many years pass. Rayman Legends Retold includes the base game and Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition.

We love a good sports game from Nintendo, so Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is one we've been keeping an eye on. It builds upon its predecessors by introducing a large island setting packed with 12 new sports and activities. This includes Prop Plane, Power Cruising, and even Thumb Wrestling. The most interesting part of these games is that they all use the Nintendo Switch 2's motion controls. This upcoming title could easily become one of the platform's go-to party games.

2. Goodboy Galaxy
Release Date: October 30, 2026.
Originally developed for niche handheld gaming enthusiasts, Goodboy Galaxy is finally making its way to Nintendo Switch 2. This charming action-platformer follows a lovable space-traveling dog named Maxwell as he explores colorful planets, uncovers secrets, and helps friends along the way. We adore the game's vibrant art style and retro-inspired graphics. As a whole, it feels like a modern tribute to classic portable adventures. Goodboy Galaxy is definitely one of those games that flew under the radar when it was initially released in late 2023. Still, it's a game we can't recommend enough because it has such a fun original concept.

1. 007 First Light
Release Date: TBA (Confirmed to be sometime in Q3 2026).
007 First Light offers a fresh take on the legendary British secret agent, as it explores the early days of James Bond before he became the world's most famous spy. We've had a chance to play the game on other platforms — and yes, it's amazing. So, we're excited for its arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2.
