Fans of this classic shooter have something new to look forward to.
Nitro Games has announced Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom, a mobile adaptation of the popular retro-inspired shooter series, that is scheduled to launch on iOS and Android in 2026. It was officially revealed during the recent Warhammer Skulls showcase.
The game aims to bring the signature boomer-shooter action of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun to mobile devices in 2026. No release date has been confirmed yet.
According to the reveal trailer, players will blast through hordes of enemies across multiple worlds in a "massive single-player campaign" while wielding iconic weapons from the Warhammer 40K universe. The game also features pixelated visuals reminiscent of the franchise's earlier titles, over-the-top violence, and the relentless firepower of a Space Marine.
Developer Nitro Games says the title is designed as an optimized, premium mobile experience and will feature content spanning different chapters of the Boltgun series. They stressed that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom is "not a simple port", but "it's a brand-new experience."
The studio, which specializes in shooter games, believes the franchise is a natural fit for mobile platforms and is already accepting pre-registrations through both the App Store and Google Play ahead of its release.
The announcement comes alongside news that the Boltgun franchise is continuing to expand, with Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 also in development for 2026.
