Rainbow Six Mobile is a port of Ubisoft's highly-competitive tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. The latter game is available on PC, as well as Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and naturally, that means it has native support for controllers. But will Rainbow Six Mobile?

That game is set to be released on iOS and Android devices, two platforms that support a wide array of controllers, but native support within games is often patchy.

When it comes to Rainbow Six Mobile, it will likely be a make-or-break moment for many would-be players who may have played the mainline game with a controller or simply aren't comfortable playing an FPS on a touchscreen. Then there is the question of gyroscopic controls, which, for some, makes aiming far easier.

Rainbow Six Mobile is currently soft-launched in select regions and there are still many questions surrounding the title, but what have the developers said about controller support? Here is everything we know.

Yes, Rainbow Six Mobile has controller support.

As outlined in the game's development roadmap, this feature will be available for all players when the game is launched worldwide. However, as per a developer blog post, the controller will not work on menus.

Does Rainbow Six Mobile Support Gyroscopic Controls?

A developer QnA session held on the Rainbow Six Mobile X (formerly Twitter) page revealed that support for gyroscopic controls will be available in the future.

Gyroscopic controls work using Gyro sensors embedded in most modern smartphones. By tilting your phone, these sensors can track movement, and this has become a popular way to aim in games such as Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile.

With Rainbow Six Mobile having the ability to crouch, prone, lean, and rappel, being able to use gyroscopic controls will prove very useful as it frees up your fingers for shooting and using utility.

It's clear from this information that the developers are actively looking to support as many control schemes as possible.
