Genshin Impact dropped a large update on players this week. Not only does the game add a new control type with gyro aiming, but it also has enabled a new technical graphical option referred to as Global Illumination.
Gyro aiming will come in handy to players who may not like to use a control stick to aim when they're playing on their PS5. This option may be a huge advantage to Splatoon fans!
Global Illumination is a pretty common graphical option included in many PC games, and now Genshin Impact has it on PC and also on PlayStation. There are a few caveats here that we will get into in our guide below.
Genshin Impact What Is Global Illumination And How To Turn It On
Global Illumination is a way to process light in a video game. To put it simply, it makes the lighting look more realistic and warm.
If you are playing the game on PlayStation, the option will be turned on by default.
There's no way to turn the option off, though, and there are not any intensity-level options like on the PC version of the game.

On PC you will, you can turn Global Illumination on PC devices with a Discrete Graphics Card with a VRAM of 4 GB or more. Travelers may enable it via Settings > Graphics.
MiHoYo highly suggests that players who meet the system requirements below turn the option on:

- Operating System: Windows 10
- 64-bit Processor: 9th Generation Intel® Core i5™-9400F or equivalent
- Discrete Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 1050 Ti or equivalent
- VRAM: 4 GB or more
- RAM: 16 GB or more
Genshin Impact What Is Gyroscope Control And How To Turn It On
Gyroscope controls are best described as motion controls. If you have a DualShock 5 controller on a PC or a PlayStation 5, you will be able to enable this option and unlock full motion controls for the game.
Travelers can find the Gyroscope settings in Settings > Controls while using a Controller to play.
