Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will be the latest installment in the long-running Dissidia series.

Square Enix has announced Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, a 3v3 team boss battle arena, a free-to-play title that would be available on iOS and Android devices.
It will build upon the crossover series that first began in 2008 with the release of Dissidia Final Fantasy. A few major titles and prologues later, and it has become a classic RPG franchise known for its unique take on combat-based action and inclusion of Final Fantasy characters.

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is expected to feature 'warriors brought to life with stunning cel-shaded graphics' and 'simple controls that let you play with just one hand.'
Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Slated For Release in 2026
Square Enix confirmed that Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will be launched worldwide sometime in 2026. However, the exact date is still unknown.

Needless to say, the game will only be released after it completes its development roadmap. Per industry norms, this typically involves various tests (both closed and open) held out over several months. The developers will receive community feedback and polish any issues. After the game passes its benchmarks, it will be ready for launch.
Once Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is released, players can dive into 3v3 matches, where two teams and a horde of roaming monsters clash against one another. Each side will race to defeat the boss, rather than the other team, to win.
The story is set in modern-day Tokyo and follows the events that take place after a blue crystal appears in the heart of the city. Mysterious energy begins to pollute the crystal, resulting in monsters appearing and terrorizing the city's inhabitants. The only hope is swift warriors known as 'Ghosts'.
First Closed Beta Test Scheduled for November
The first closed beta test will occur from November 7 to 14, 2025. It will be an Android-only test conducted in eligible regions in the United States and Canada.

Hopeful participants can register here. Registration will be open between October 14 and 28. Only 20,000 players will be invited to this test.
First released on the PSP in 2008, Dissidia Final Fantasy combined fast-paced, 3D arena combat with RPG-style progression. It was hailed for its unique gameplay that allowed players to customize abilities and summon classic icons like Ifrit and Shiva.
Notably, Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy would only be the second mobile game in the entire franchise. The first was Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, an RPG initially launched in 2017, but concluded service in early 2024.
