A few months ago, Ubisoft paused the addition of new content for its highly-anticipated mobile game, Rainbow Six Mobile, and with it, the suspension of its global rollout. Now, it's back with a clear roadmap ahead.

Rainbow Six Mobile was put on hold in early 2024 when Ubisoft announced its decision to pause the rollout of new territories and content for the game's soft launch phase. At the time, it was cause for concern regarding the game's future considering that other big-budget mobile titles were being canned.
Fortunately, this will not be Rainbow Six Mobile's destiny as Ubisoft, from completely out of nowhere, has re-entered the conversation and revealed that the game is back under development and will resume its soft launch.
So, what about the game has changed when it was suspended for all those months? Ubisoft stated that they reworked certain aspects and improved key elements of the gameplay based on the feedback given by the community in past tests. This includes changes such as the artistic direction, the economy system, and the game's server performance.

Now, with the game's return, the path forward for Rainbow Six Mobile will include a lot more testing. Specifically, there will be two phases of testing before the final phase of a global launch. These roadmap phases are meant to "assess and validate the changes" brought forward by the team and ensure that "expectations are met."
The first phase is known as the Technical Test. In it, the developers want to assess the new features and changes introduced to the game after all those months the game was on hiatus. Initial crashes, errors, and other bugs will also be resolved here.

In the second phase, known as the Engagement Test, Ubisoft wants to test player engagement with the newly added features. They would like to gather feedback on not just this, but how they can improve matchmaking and the overall feel of the game.
Finally, the third phase will be a transition from a soft launch to a global launch. This crucial phase will see the development team make final adjustments to the game that will allow for a smooth worldwide release. This includes the deployment of global data centers, launching final balance changes, and addressing all unresolved bugs from previous tests.
It's evident that Ubisoft is determined to ensure that Rainbow Six Mobile is the best version it can be before it hits the app store shelves. Since the game was first announced back in early 2022, it has garnered a significant following of players who are eager to experience a mobile adaptation of the triple-A mainline shooter game, Rainbow Six Siege. As the game stands, it pays tribute to Six Siege by incorporating the same iconic gameplay mechanics, a familiar roster of Operators, a lineup of popular maps, and other similar features.
