One UI 8.0, the bespoke user interface (UI) developed by Samsung for its Galaxy devices, began its official launch on September 15. Based on Android 16, it ushers in a new era for users with features and tools—one that's marked by the heavy presence of artificial intelligence (AI).

This generation of One UI will introduce "advanced multimodal AI capabilities, a UX optimized for different device form factors, and personalized, proactive suggestions." All in all, Samsung believes AI will lead to a more personalized touch and a step further to what they call "AI democratization."

Whether One UI 8.0 achieves these goals remains to be seen. The final verdict ultimately rests upon how receptive users are to the update after it completes its rollout. As it stands, the full rollout schedule has not officially been confirmed. The global press release simply states that eligible Galaxy A, S, Z, and Tab devices will receive it later in 2025.

However, the release timeline for the stable One UI 8.0 has been roughly outlined by posts in the Korean Samsung community and by Samsung Newsroom Brazil. According to these posts, One UI 8.0 will be gradually released from mid-September to the end of October.
