Supercell rarely introduces game updates to Clash of Clans. But when they do, they have the potential to shake up the game.

In the past, updates have come in the form of a new Town Hall level, major adjustments to the gameplay experience, reworks to certain Troops/spells, and more.

The devs are often tight-lipped about when players can expect to see these updates in the game. They've dropped hints in the past and given previews of what's to come, but never a release date. With that said, we'll try our best to provide you with an overview of the expected update schedule.

The next major update is slated to be at the end of 2025, potentially sometime in November and December. This will see the highly anticipated release of Town Hall 18 and everything that usually comes along with it. This includes new Troops, upgrades, buildings, and other game-changing features.

The last consequential update was released in Spring 2025, where the biggest change was the removal of Troop Training from the game. This resulted in Troops, Spells, and Siege Machines no longer taking time to train. It extended to the removal of Hero recovery time and Lives.

Besides this, Training-related Magic Items and Perks, such as the Training Potion, were removed.

A "Match Anytime" feature was also introduced to prevent matchmaking issues that may arise from players being allowed to attack more frequently. Additionally, adjustments were made to the Trophy curves so that players earn fewer Trophies from 1-Star Victories.

Besides all this, you can expect a new season to begin on the first day of each new month.
