There are a variety of characters in Clash of Clans. They can be divided into three separate types: Troops, Heroes, and Pets. It's also important to note that different characters exist in the Home Village and Builder Base.
Regardless of their type or which base they belong to, each character plays an important role in the game. They can help your offensive capabilities, serve as good defensive troops, or help support your army during battle.
Over Clash of Clans' more than decade-long existence, new characters have been continually introduced with every update, so it can be challenging to keep up with all of them. So today, we've put together a list of all the characters currently available in the game's roster.
All Troops in Clash of Clans
We'll separate all the Troops in Clash of Clans into their distinct categories. This includes Elixir Troops, Dark Elixir Troops, Super Troops, Heroes, Hero Pets, and Builder Base Troops.
Elixir Troops
Elixir Troops are Troops that can be trained at the Barracks. As the name suggests, you will need to use Elixir to upgrade them.

Dark Elixir Troops
Dark Elixir Troops are characters that can be trained from the Dark Barracks. They are slightly more powerful than Elixir Troops and tend to occupy more space in your Army Camps. They require Dark Elixir to be upgraded.

Super Troops

Heroes
Heroes are arguably the most powerful Troops in Clash of Clans. They are immortal, which means that you will only have to train them once by building their Hero Altar. Heroes can be used in any battle as long as they have regenerated their HP fully from the last battle.
There are five Heroes currently in Clash of Clans. These are:
- Barbarian King
- Archer Queen
- Grand Warden
- Royal Champion
- Minion Prince
Hero Pets
There are 11 Hero Pets available in Clash of Clans. Pets are battle companions that will accompany any Hero into battle to provide special powers. Only one Pet can be assigned to one Hero.
Pets can be unlocked by building the Pet House that becomes available when you upgrade your Town Hall to level 14. The Pet House is a building that allows you to manage your Hero Pets, upgrade them, and assign Pets to a Hero.
