Clash of Clans Will Remove Troop Training – Here’s Why It’s a Game-Changer

Supercell has announced that Troop Training will be removed from Clash of Clans in the next game update.

It's official. Supercell has confirmed that after the release of the next major update, Troop Training as a mechanic will be eliminated from Clash of Clans in its entirety.

That means you will no longer have to wait for Troops, Spells, or Siege Machines to train any longer – they will be ready in an instant. This change will also apply to Heroes, meaning Hero recovery time and live will no longer exist after the update. At the moment, no release date has been confirmed for this update.

This is understandably a huge change, but one that wasn't too big of a surprise given that Supercell removed Troop Training costs a few years ago. This feels like a natural evolution from that update. Regardless, these changes will have an effect on other mechanics in Clash of Clans that are worth knowing about.

Matchmaking Issues Will Be Resolved With Snapshot Bases

You can expect players to be more active and for attacks to happen more frequently once Training Times are removed. To combat long waiting times to find enemy bases, Supercell will deploy a new piece of server tech they call "Match Anytime."

In this system, if you run out of eligible bases to attack, you will be offered the chance to attack a "snapshot base." This is basically someone's base that's under a Shield. You can still attack it, collect loot, and earn Trophies, but the defender will not lose any of their loot or Trophies in the process. "Match Anytime" is rather similar to the mechanic we see in Clan Wars.

Trophy Curves Adjusted to Prevent Inflation

To prevent players from earning too many Trophies in one session, Supercell will be adjusting the number of Trophies you can earn from battle victories. The biggest change will be the reduction of Trophies you can get from 1-Star victories.

Overall, it's meant to encourage players to consider each base carefully so they can get the most loot and the most amount of Trophies from their battles.

Legend League Stays Limited—For Now

Supercell noticed that most players in the Legend League do not complete their allotted 8 attacks per day, so players will remain limited to 8 attacks per day after this update. They will not benefit from the unlimited attacks other players will have.

However, that may change as the developers stated they intend to fix this in a future update.

What Will Happen to Training Items and Donations?

With Training Times no longer an issue, Training Potions and Training Treats will be removed from Clash of Clans. The Training Perk offered to players in the Gold Pass will also be replaced by a Donation Request Timer reduction perk.

This leads us to the topic of Donations. They will remain in the game, but they will cost you Elixir or Dark Elixir, depending on the Troop or Spell, so you won't be able to donate Troops endlessly. The exact values have not been revealed yet.

On top of this, Clan Castle Request times will be set to 10 minutes. This can be lessened with the help of the aforementioned Donation Request Timer reduction perk.
