We'll explain how the Prospector works in Clash of Clans, and how you can best use him when it comes to Ores.
Introduced to Clash of Clans in the February 2026 update, the Prospector is a non-combatant character that can be unlocked for the Home Village by Gold Pass players once they reach 2,400 Season Points.
They work similarly to the Alchemist, with the Prospector allowing players to convert their Ores into other Ores instead of converting resources. As Ores can be hard to come by, this character is the perfect tool for those looking for some help in upgrading their Hero Equipment.
Their abilities can be accessed by visiting the Helper Hut in the Home Village.
How the Prospector Works in Clash of Clans
The Prospector is capable of instantly converting your existing Ores into other types of Ores once every 23 hours.
It requires no Gem cost to build, and there are no upgrades for the character. This means the Prospector will only remain at Level 1, and thus, will provide the same conversion for every Clash of Clans player. There are also no bonus resources a player can receive from converting their Ores — a trait that is, conversely, available with the Alchemist.
The Prospector is a temporary perk that can be obtained from the Gold Pass by players who are Town Hall 10 and above. Players below Town Hall 10 will receive a Resource Potion instead. The Prospector will remain at the Home Village until the end of the season. After this, players will need to unlock them again from the Gold Pass.
What Are the Ore Conversion Rates for the Prospector?
The Prospector's Ore conversion rates are quite easy to comprehend, as they are only available in one level. The conversion rates are as follows:
| Ore Conversion Rate | |
| Shiny Ore | A maximum of 2,000 Shiny Ores can be converted to 120 Glowy Ores or 2 Starry Ores |
| Glowy Ore | A maximum of 120 Glowy Ores can be converted to 2,000 Shiny Ores or 2 Starry Ores |
| Starry Ore | A maximum of 2 Starry Ores can be converted to 2,000 Shiny Ores of 120 Glowy Ores |
The conversion options are dependent on how many Ores you have in your inventory. Players can decide how much they would like to convert by using the sliding scale.
