Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile servers will be shutting down on April 17, 2026, as a final step of the previously communicated service changes that were relayed by Activision on May 17, 2025.

The announcement was made via a blog post, followed by official social media posts stating the same. Until the shutdown, players can still play and engage with the existing content.

Now, for players who don't know, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is one of the many ports of a long-running popular franchise on the mobile platform that was doomed to fail since launch, thanks to the poor optimization leading to lag and overheating issues, over the top requirements, that too, with a mobile-first approach and other factors.

The game was a technical mess with even high-end devices facing overheating and other issues. In about eight months from the official global launch, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile's revenue dropped by 87.5%.

In the wake of that and other factors, the game was taken off Apple's App Store and Google Play Store on May 17th of last year. In response to that, Activision said the following:

We deeply appreciate your dedication and passion for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Going forward, we will be streamlining the scope of the game. This decision was made after careful consideration of various factors and while we're proud of the accomplishment in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile in an authentic way, it unfortunately has not met our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.
As a result, we will no longer be delivering new seasonal content and gameplay updates to the mobile version. Effective immediately, players will no longer be able to purchase Call of Duty Points or Black Cell using real currency in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Sunday, May 18, 2025 will be the last day the game can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple’s App Store and social features across both mobile platforms will be retired.
Players who have the game installed before Monday, May 19, 2025 will still have access to the game with continued cross-progression of shared inventories using existing content, and servers with matchmaking for online play. Any unspent COD Points can also be redeemed in-game toward available content in the Store.
We know that this news may be disappointing, and we truly appreciate the support, passion, feedback, and dedication from our community. We have special incentives for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile players in Call of Duty: Mobile and encourage our players to try it for free.

Fast forward to the present, and the game is finally ending its service completely in April. Here's what the blog post said about the end of service:

As a final step in the previously communicated service changes to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, the servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will go offline on April 17, 2026, after which the game will no longer be available for play. Until that time, players may continue to access the game and engage with existing content.
We are deeply grateful to the community that supported Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and to the developers who brought the experience to life. Player passion and feedback continue to shape the future of the Call of Duty® franchise, and we look forward to delivering meaningful seasonal content and updates to Call of Duty®: Mobile.

As you can see, Activision will be sticking with Call of Duty: Mobile, one of the most profitable IPs on mobile, rather than burning cash on keeping Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile alive.
