StudioBside has announced that CounterSide's servers will be closing soon. Well, "closing" for now.
CounterSide is slated to be shut down on August 26, 2026, according to StudioBside CEO Ryu Geumtae.
Over the past six years, we have laughed together and grown together with countless CEOs. Every moment, planning monthly development roadmaps, delivering updates every week, and sharing conversations through live streams and broadcasts, has been a genuinely precious memory for us.
Though we are filled with regret, after extensive internal discussion, we have reached the conclusion that the time has come to pause the story of CounterSide.
In-app purchases have been suspended, and the urban graphic novel RPG has been removed from app stores since the announcement on June 16. The official website, lounge, SNS service, and customer support will end later this year on September 29.
As a thank-you gift, all players can collect 300 Admin Coins every day until the game's closure. On top of that, packages will be added to the in-game shop, which players can purchase using their remaining Coins.
Cafe Strega Will Also Be Shut Down
Cafe Strega, an offline space meant to be a haven for the CounterSide community, is also scheduled for closure.

SNS operations and its final business day are slated for June 28, 2026 at 17:30 UTC-5. Last orders must be placed before 15:00 UTC-5 on the same day.
Merchandise sold in the cafe will not be restocked once any items are sold out.
It's Not Exactly The End of CounterSide Yet
Importantly, StudioBside stressed that "this is not the end of CounterSide's story." Geumtae added that CounterSide is planned to return in the future as a "reboot project, following a period of organization and renewal."
The developers plan to revisit CounterSide's core foundations through the reboot project, aiming to deliver a more authentic urban fantasy RPG experience while staying true to the game's original vision. No further details were provided.
Launched in 2020, CounterSide is an urban fantasy RPG developed by StudioBside that combines real-time strategic combat with anime-inspired storytelling. Over the years, it has built a dedicated player base through regular story updates, seasonal events, and a large roster of collectible characters. It established itself as, arguably, one of the more recognizable gacha RPGs in the mobile gaming space.
