The Pokémon Company has officially confirmed that Pokémon Champions, the franchise's dedicated competitive battling experience, will be launched on mobile on June 17, 2026.

The free-to-play, turn-based strategy game first debuted on the Nintendo Switch in April this year. It features familiar gameplay mechanics such as Pokémon types, abilities, held items, and Mega Evolution.

Unlike traditional Pokémon RPGs that focus on story progression and world exploration, Pokémon Champions is built entirely around battling. Players can compete in Casual Battles, Ranked Battles, and Private Battles against other trainers around the world. Players can also build teams using Pokémon recruited within the game and others, like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, through Pokémon HOME.

The mobile version will support full cross-platform play and cross-save functionality with the Nintendo Switch version. This allows trainers to seamlessly continue their progress across devices by linking their Nintendo Account.

To celebrate the mobile launch, The Pokémon Company is offering all players a special in-game gift. Trainers — on both Nintendo Switch and mobile — can claim a free Raichu, Raichunite X, Raichunite Y, and two Mega Stones between June 17 and September 2.

Pre-registration for Pokémon Champions is currently open, with players being able to register their interest through the App Store and the Google Play Store.
