Eternal

15. Eternal

Eternal feels like a blend between Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone in terms of its gameplay design. It offers a decent amount of complex strategy without becoming too overwhelming, and the game constantly rewards players with new cards and content on a regular basis. The flexible deck-building options make it easy to create weird strategies and win conditions.

Animation Throwdown

14. Animation Throwdown

Animation Throwdown is an extremely casual take on the digital CCG genre, as it features characters from shows like Family Guy, Futurama, and Bob's Burgers and throws them into chaotic card battles. The humor is a huge part of the appeal, but the combo system and deck-building mechanics are also quite polished. It's certainly a more laid-back experience overall, but it can still be addictive if you enjoy cartoon-themed games.

Clash Royale

13. Clash Royale

Even though Clash Royale is a title known for mixing tower defense and real-time strategy elements, the digital card-collecting element still sits at the center of the experience. Building the perfect deck, countering enemy strategies, and managing your Elixir are all part of the tactical experience that keeps each match feeling tense. The short matches and quick turnaround between matches make it one of the easiest card games to keep returning to on a regular basis.

Yu Gi Oh Master Duel

12. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

For longtime Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, Master Duel is basically a dream version of the classic card game. It brings the full competitive experience with thousands of cards, detailed summoning mechanics, and all the complicated combos the trading card franchise is known for. We'll admit that the game can feel slightly overwhelming for newcomers, but experienced players will love how authentic and polished the game feels.

Monster Train

11. Monster Train

Monster Train combines deck-building mechanics with card battles in a way that feels chaotic yet rewarding. You will defend multiple train floors while summoning monsters, casting spells, and building ridiculous combos. No run has ever felt similar in our experience. On top of all that, there are over 250 cards that you can collect, which means the possibilities are endless when it comes to building a deck.

Slay the Spire

10. Slay the Spire

Slay the Spire technically leans more toward being a roguelike deck-building game than being a competitive multiplayer card game, but it absolutely deserves a spot here. Every run forces you to carefully craft decks while dealing with random encounters, powerful relics, and brutal bosses. The amount of replayability packed into the game is honestly ridiculous, and it gives you the same satisfying feeling as other CCGs.

Mythgard

9. Mythgard

Mythgard is a lesser-known turn-based digital CCG that combines mythology, cyberpunk themes, and tactical card combat into something that feels quite refreshing. Positioning matters more here than in many other digital card games, and the lane-based system adds another strategic layer to battles. The gameplay, coupled with its impressive visual design, helps it stand out in a crowded genre filled with games that feel all too similar at times.

Legends of Runeterra

8. Legends of Runeterra

Riot Games did a great job of making Legends of Runeterra feel like a competitive, fair, and balanced digital collectible card game. Unlike some other titles in the genre that heavily push spending money, this one is surprisingly generous with rewards and progression. Ultimately, the game mixes clever strategy with the expansive world of League of Legends. We really appreciate the back-and-forth combat system that feels incredibly interactive.

GWENT The Witcher Card Game

7. GWENT: The Witcher Card Game

GWENT: The Witcher Card Game stands out because, instead of directly attacking your opponents, you take turns focusing on winning rounds by getting enough "Power" on the board. You can achieve this through smart unit placement, resource management, and, of course, a little bit of mind games. The dark fantasy style that it inherits from The Witcher series gives the game a unique atmosphere. One of the more interesting things about GWENT is that official support for the game ended in late 2023. Since then, the community has been given a system to democratically maintain the balance of the game. It's genuinely quite a unique responsibility that we've not seen in other games.

Harry Potter Magic Awakened

6. Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is a collectible card RPG that blends real-time combat and the Wizarding World into one stylish package. Spells, magical creatures, and iconic Harry Potter characters all become part of your battle strategy. The game's visuals are easily some of the best in the genre, as they are quite unique and polished. If you're looking for a more action-heavy card game experience, then this is probably the game for you.

Stormbound

5. Stormbound

Stormbound is a turn-based PvP game that mixes collectible card gameplay with chess-like movement mechanics. Ultimately, this creates a very different experience compared to traditional card battlers. Positioning units properly across the very limited space is just as important as managing resources or drawing strong cards. To us, it has a very puzzle-like feel. It's almost as if you're trying to solve a puzzle in each match rather than engaging in a card game.

Pokémon TCG Pocket

4. Pokémon TCG Pocket

Pokémon TCG Pocket is a mobile adaptation of Pokémon Trading Card Game that focuses on matches where each player uses 60-card decks. It retains the charming feel of the franchise, as you can collect classic Pokémon cards and open booster packs. On top of all that, the artwork looks fantastic on mobile screens, and the simplified gameplay makes it easy for newcomers to jump in. We've tried it, and it was quite a nostalgic trip.

Marvel Snap

3. Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap took the CCG genre and stripped away a lot of the slower, more complex elements that usually scare away casual players and replaced them with fast-paced gameplay that surrounds iconic Marvel characters. Matches only last a few minutes, but there's still plenty of strategy thanks to the various location effects, surprise plays, and the snap mechanic that raises the stakes mid-game. The pacing, stylish comic-book visuals, and huge roster of Marvel heroes make it dangerously addictive. It helps that a guiding voice behind Marvel Snap's direction is Ben Brode — a former Lead Designer of Hearthstone.

Hearthstone

2. Hearthstone

Blizzard's Hearthstone has long been one of the biggest names in the digital card gaming genre. Based heavily on Warcraft lore, the game is quite easy to get into thanks to its traditional turn-based approach. However, once you start building advanced decks and climbing the ranks, there's a ton of depth that lies underneath the game's colorful presentation. The game also receives frequent expansions, which introduce new cards, mechanics, and limited-time game modes that, ultimately, keep things fresh.

Magic The Gathering Arena

1. Magic: The Gathering Arena

Magic: The Gathering Arena brings one of the most legendary trading card games ever made to mobile devices. It follows the same rules as the physical card game, so it's definitely easy to pick up if you're familiar with them. There's a solid amount of strategic depth in this game, and things can get quite chaotic and fun once everything starts to click together. Between drafting, ranked play, and the endless deck combinations, Magic: The Gathering Arena offers nearly limitless replay value to those who have the time.
