The latest installment in the popular RPG series will be released on mobile devices soon.
DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow will officially be launched worldwide on April 21, 2026. The mobile-only spin-off in the long-running Dragon Quest franchise was first announced on September 17 last year.
In terms of gameplay, DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow centers around fast-paced, real-time combat where players take on waves of enemies in large arenas. Instead of strategic turn-based battles like its predecessors, players directly control their characters in combat.
The "Smash/Grow" element of the game's title hints at the progression system revolving around smashing enemies to gain experience and resources, which then allows players to grow their character and abilities.

What sets the game apart is its roguelite RPG structure. Each run introduces randomized upgrades known as Blessings, which allow players to grow their character in different ways every time they play. Players can also launch signature Coup de Grâce attacks to vanquish their enemies.
The game also features an expansive main story where players navigate their way through dangerous and mysterious rifts located all over the in-game world. Co-op quests are also available for those who wish to play with their friends.
Players can currently pre-register for DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow through the App Store and Google Play Store. Those who do so will receive 10 Transmuter pulls immediately after the game's global launch.
