Players will get an early look at Rust Mobile during the game's upcoming closed beta test.

After being revealed in August, the developers of Rust Mobile have announced that it will be hosting its first closed beta test (CBT) in early November 2025.
Rust Mobile is a mobile adaptation of Rust, the PC multiplayer survival game where players start with virtually nothing and must gather resources, clothing, weapons, and various other items to survive as long as possible. Officially licensed by Facepunch Studios, it promises to bring the “full-scale, open-world survival experience” to mobile.
The core gameplay of Rust Mobile will revolve around mechanics that players of the PC version know and love. This includes crafting tools, building shelters, and creating weapons to defend against threats such as environmental hazards and other players. PvP will remain a major aspect of the game, and players can form alliances, raid enemy bases, or go solo in a harsh and unforgiving world.
Rust Mobile's First CBT Will Be Open To 30,000 Players
Registration for Rust Mobile's CBT is currently open, and hopeful players can sign up by heading to the game's official website. The recruitment period began in August and will end in September. Players will be notified via email if they are successful in their registration.
The test will invite up to 30,000 players from across North America, Western Europe, and select regions in Asia. Specifically, the countries include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Thailand, and Japan. Players will be selected based on their application details, device compatibility, and region.

Android, iOS, and tablet devices will be supported. However, cross-play with PC Rust will not be supported during this test. Languages such as English, Japanese, Thai, and Traditional Chinese will be available.
The duration of the CBT has not been confirmed yet, but the developers assure players that they will share the exact start date and schedule closer to the test's launch. They will also confirm if the progress from the test version will be carried over to the full version.
Since its full release in 2018, Rust has grown an almost cult-like following, with many fans calling for a mobile app to be developed for those who want to play on the go. Rust Mobile is the answer to this request that so many in the community have consistently raised over the years. There is currently no official release date set for Rust Mobile.
