With Rainbow Six Mobile having recently concluded its second round of closed beta tests, all eyes are now set on the game's next step – a soft launch.

As outlined in the game's development roadmap, a soft launch would see the Rainbow Six Mobile become permanently live. This means the game will gradually be made available to players across certain regions. It also means that no resets,as was the case in the earlier beta tests, will be implemented to player progress after the game is formally launched. Other features will be made available during the soft-launch phase such as mini-seasons, ranked mode, an event-based game mode, and additional maps.

All of this sounds extremely promising. So, when is Rainbow Six Mobile having its soft launch?

The gamebegan its soft launch phasein August 2023. So far, Ubisoft has currently soft-launched Rainbow Six Mobile in seven countries on the Android and iOS platforms. This includes Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Mexico, and Poland.

Here is a timeline of when each region was added:

  • Canada: August 28, 2023
  • Mexico: September 4, 2023
  • Chile: November 8, 2023
  • Colombia: December 16, 2023
  • Argentina: November 20, 2024
  • France: January 20, 2025
  • Poland: February 26, 2025

There was a lengthy pause to Rainbow Six Mobile's rollout of the game after Ubisoft announced that, in addition to new in-game content, they will be pausing the addition of new regions to their soft-launch program in mid-March 2024. They cited the need to focus on improving key gameplay elements. The developers later returned in November 2024.

Features available in the game's soft launch version are new operator customizations, gameplay improvements (such as fixes to wall clipping),various new game modes, a beta version of a ranked mode, ranked events, and permanent progression.

After this soft launch phase, Rainbow Six Mobile will have its worldwide rollout. The exact date has not been revealed yet but it is believed to be in mid-2025.

As stated in the roadmap, you can expect full seasons, additional operators, controller support, match reconnect, and other features to be available in the final version of the game. It will be a live service game, so we hope to see more operators, maps, and game modes introduced to the game down the road.
