We've ranked all the Spells in Clash Royale from best to worst based on how well they're performing in the current meta.

Spells offer you either an offensive or defensive edge to your deck. They are utility cards that tend to be situation-based, such as eliminating a large wave of troops or distracting enemies while your army attacks.
With so many Spells currently available in Clash Royale at the moment, choosing the right ones can be challenging. To help you with that dilemma, we've put together a handy tier list to help you figure out which is the right one for you and your deck.
All Spells in Clash Royale, Ranked
There are currently 21 Spells in Clash Royale. We've assessed each card based on its utility, its effectiveness in combat, and how strong they are for the current meta. We also took the September balance changes into consideration.

The tier list starts with the S-tier at the top and ends with the F-tier at the bottom. The power levels of the cards decrease as you descend the tiers.
S-tier Spells are the best ones in the game, as they're effective in various situations. A-tier Spells are above-average performers, while B-tier Spells are average utility cards. C-tier Spells are decent, but they're underperforming at the moment. Meanwhile, the F-tier showcases the least powerful Spells in the game.
Take a closer look at our Spell tier list below:
Tier | Spells |
S | The Log, Arrows, Goblin Barrel, and Vines |
A | Zap, Fireball, Graveyard, Rage, Poison, and Goblin Curse |
B | Freeze, Barbarian Barrel, Giant Snowball, Earthquake, Tornado, Lightning, and Rocket |
C | Void, Royal Delivery, and Mirror |
F | Clone |
We'll update the rankings if there are any shifts in the meta or if any new Spells are added to the roster.
Best Spells in Clash Royale

The best Spells in the game at the moment are Arrows, Goblin Barrel, The Log, and Vines.
Arrows have long been a reliable Spell in Clash Royale. They're cheap and incredibly effective at dealing area-of-effect (AoE) damage.
The Log is capable of dealing decent damage in a vertical line on the battlefield. It's an inexpensive Spell and is good at handling low-HP troops. If it doesn't take out enemies, it will still push them back a little.
The Goblin Barrel is a powerful offensive Spell that can be deployed anywhere on the battlefield. It summons three Goblins who can either function as damage dealers to enemy Towers or as a distraction.
Finally, Vines is a strong Spell that's capable of immobilizing enemy Buildings and troops. This makes it extremely effective at slowing down offensive troops or distracting defending units.
Worst Spells in Clash Royale

The Clone Spell is arguably the least powerful Spell in Clash Royale.
Yes, it can clone every friendly troop within the Spell's radius, which can make for a good distraction. But the clones only have 1 HP. In today's meta, where every deck runs some form of AoE damage, the Clone Spell's presence on the battlefield can be easily wiped off. Overall, this leaves this card in a very weak position.
