Punishing: Gray Raven is an interesting game because all of the characters in the game are viable and can be used to clear all of the content in the game. Some characters may excel at a specific mode, elemental resistance, clear speed, or stalling. Some may not be as effective as others.

S-tier
Lee - Entropy: Lee is one of the best Physical-based Damage dealers in the game. He is the above-average rough-and-tumble DPS that you should always bring along.
Liv - Luminance: A healer that would make for a great addition to any team, her healing output is better than every healer in the game currently.
Kamui - Tenebrion: Kamui is an amazing tank that can slot into any team. He has a massive DPS output for his role and an even better debuff effect for the enemies.
Karenina - Ember: Karenina is the unit you want to bring with you to maps that require clearing out huge waves of enemies. Her burst DPS is phenomenal.

Watanabe - Nightblade: A great DPS unit that has a decent burst skill. He deals extra damage when attacking from behind.

Karenina - Blast: Has a stance switch and deals physical and elemental damage. She is very fun to play with as well.
Bianca - Zero: She has a low cooldown on all of her skills, which makes her ideal for boss fights.

Lucia - Padma: You start the game with this unit, and she will easily carry you through the beginning of the game!
