Resident Evil Village

20. Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village on mobile (currently only available on iOS iPadOS) is a surprisingly faithful port of the console hit, as it is complete with its detailed environments and stunning visuals. The game maintains its mix of horror, action, and storytelling without cutting too many corners. Even the boss battles with Lady Dimitrescu and Karl Heisenberg feel seamless since the controls are rather smooth. For us, it's a great example of AAA horror done right on mobile. You do have to fork out some money to purchase the game, but it's completely worth it.

XCOM 2 Collection

19. XCOM 2 Collection

XCOM 2 Collection is a full-blown tactical strategy game that somehow works on mobile without losing its signature complexity. The game sees you manage a resistance, make tough decisions, and engage in turn-based battles that require thorough planning. The game is challenging but incredibly rewarding. All in all, it's a proper AAA strategy experience that fits perfectly in your pocket.

The Division Resurgence

18. The Division Resurgence

The Division Resurgence brings Ubisoft's popular looter-shooter formula to mobile without cutting too many corners. It features the detailed open-world city of New York, action-packed combat, and plenty of missions to grind through. The visuals and animations are impressively close to the franchise's console versions. That said, if you like decently structured shooters with RPG elements, then this game is a solid AAA game for you.

Wreckfest

17. Wreckfest

Wreckfest stands out for its physics-based destruction and carnage-filled races. Cars crash, break apart, and behave in ways that feel realistic and satisfying. The game may not get as much attention or marketing as other racing games like Need For Speed, but it looks and feels great. It may be a bit of a niche experience, but we can almost guarantee that it's an experience you won't regret trying.

Life is Strange

16. Life is Strange

Life is Strange features a narrative-driven gameplay with exceptionally strong writing and emotional choices. The mobile version keeps the same story, voice acting, and atmosphere as the original on other platforms. It even has controller support for those who may be less accustomed to touch controls. The game really takes you on an unforgettable journey. It may not tick all the requirements for a traditional AAA game (some describe it more as an AA game), but for us, it's certainly worthy of that AAA-quality distinction.

Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition

15. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition brings the classic AAA RPG to mobile with, surprisingly, all of its strategic depth intact. You get the same complex storytelling, deep character customization, and tactical combat. The interface has also been uniquely adapted for the platform, which includes features such as zoom in/out and multi-touch gesturing. The touch controls, as a whole, are superb, actually. It's a game whose sheer amount of content and quality blows us away, especially considering the mobile version of this edition was released over a decade ago.

Honkai Star Rail

14. Honkai: Star Rail

Honkai: Star Rail proves that turn-based RPG combat can still feel AAA if it's done right. The game mixes stylish visuals, cinematic storytelling, and polished animations with a deep combat system. Every character feels unique thanks to their personality, and the overall presentation is top-tier. The game definitely feels a lot more linear than HoYoverse's other popular RPG, Genshin Impact, but it makes up for it with tighter pacing and a stronger narrative focus.

Alien Isolation

13. Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation on mobile is another example of a premium console game ported properly. The atmosphere is intense, the graphics are top-notch, and the AI is just as terrifying as ever. The best part is that it's not a watered-down version of the original game. Great AAA horror mobile games are hard to come by on the platform, and this is about as good as it gets.

Rainbow Six Mobile

12. Rainbow Six Mobile

Rainbow Six Mobile focuses on quick, tactical, team-based gameplay rather than run-and-gun action like other titles in the shooter genre. This strategic approach is what helps this game (and its mainline game) stand out. You're coordinating with teammates in 5v5 matches, breaching walls, and using gadgets to put your opponents at a disadvantage. The maps and operators have been carefully adapted for mobile, and the destructible environments and endless attacking/defending approaches mean that no round or match is ever the same.

Need for Speed No Limits

11. Need for Speed No Limits

Need for Speed No Limits delivers fast-paced street racing with incredibly slick visuals and plenty of customization options for your vehicle. There are a host of extremely fast car brands that you can add to your collection, such as Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Lamborghini. In terms of gameplay, the game focuses on short, intense races that are great for both casual on-the-go players and more competitive ones. The progression can feel a little grindy, but still, it's a solid AAA-style racer for fans of the high-octane franchise.

Stardew Valley

10. Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley might look simple on the surface, but it offers an incredibly rich farm life simulator experience. You're farming, building relationships, exploring caves, and carefully managing both your time and resources. The impressive thing to note about this game is that it was made entirely by an indie developer, yet its depth and visuals easily rival other AAA games on the platform.

Zenless Zone Zero

9. Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero brings that signature HoYoverse style and polish into a more urban, stylized setting with fast-paced RPG combat. The game leans heavily into personality, and it showcases that in its flashy character designs and smooth combat transitions. It's not a fully open-world, but its hub-based structure keeps things tight and focused. Everything from the UI to the soundtrack screams high production value.

Call of Duty Mobile

8. Call of Duty: Mobile

Call of Duty: Mobile brings the full console-style shooter experience right to your phone. You get most of the iconic maps, exhilarating gunplay, multiple multiplayer modes, and even a battle royale option that actually holds up. The controls are smooth, especially once you tweak them to your liking. The game also continuously receives new updates, just like the other live-service titles in the franchise. It's worth diving into if you're looking for some action-packed gunfights.

Grid Autosport

7. GRID Autosport

GRID Autosport is a more serious racing game compared to some of the more arcade titles on mobile. The game offers realistic handling, a proper career mode, and smooth controls that truly make you feel like you're racing a car. The visuals are crisp, and the controls can be customized to suit different playstyles. It's a premium game with no live-service nonsense, which is refreshing for the platform. If you want something closer to a realistic console racer, then this is the game for you.

Death Stranding Directors Cut

6. Death Stranding Director's Cut

Death Stranding Director's Cut is one of those games you wouldn't expect to see on mobile at all, but it was brought to iOS devices in early 2024. The game itself is a mix of its unique traversal-based gameplay, cinematic storytelling, and stunning landscapes, all packaged with that Hideo Kojima touch. The slow-paced nature actually fits mobile play better than you'd think it would. It's a phenomenal experience, and definitely a game you can jump into if you've got time to spare.

Wuthering Waves

5. Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves is one of the closest things mobile has to a next-gen AAA action RPG right now. It drops you into a massive open world that feels fast and fluid. There are a bunch of great movement mechanics like wall-running, grappling, and even aerial movement. But, if you ask us, combat is where the game really shines. You can precisely dodge, parry, and chain combos rather than just spamming abilities. It also has stylish animations and a strong sci-fi aesthetic. Play this game on a high-end device and it'll absolutely feel like a high-end console experience.

Minecraft

4. Minecraft

Minecraft might not exactly be new, but it absolutely qualifies as a AAA experience thanks to its sheer scope and polish. You get the full sandbox experience with endless building, survival mechanics, and a bunch of multiplayer options. The game runs smoothly on most devices and regularly receives updates that expand the game even further. There's nothing more we can say to get you on board. We'll just say this: There's a reason why Minecraft remains a classic solo and multiplayer experience for many gamers — it's just that good, and no, we weren't paid to say that.

Red Dead Redemption

3. Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption made its long-awaited arrival to mobile recently, and it feels every bit like the AAA classic it is. You're dropped into a sprawling Wild West world filled with chaotic events, side missions, and breathtaking storytelling that still holds up today. The pacing is slower compared to most mobile games, but that actually works in its favor, as it lets you soak in all of the game's atmosphere and detail. The endless gunfights, horseback travel, and exploration all translate well to the game's touch controls.

Genshin Impact

2. Genshin Impact

If you want a true AAA experience on mobile, Genshin Impact is arguably the gold standard at the moment. The game throws you into a massive open world, known as Teyvat, that's packed with gorgeous visuals, a deep elemental combat system, and a constantly evolving story. The production value is actually quite ridiculous for a mobile game. On top of everything we've mentioned already, there's immersive voice acting, orchestral music, and frequent updates. Yes, Genshin Impact can feel grindy and gacha-heavy at times, but there's no denying how polished and ambitious the game is.

Fortnite

1. Fortnite

Was the addition of Fortnite to this list ever a surprise? Probably not. On mobile, the game delivers the same chaotic yet creative battle royale experience you'd find on other platforms. You still get the same solid building mechanics, constant collaborations, and a world that evolves over time. The graphics and overall performance can vary depending on your device (since it's such a demanding game), but when it runs well, Fortnite feels like a full AAA game. It's one of the few titles where mobile players aren't completely left behind by compromises the developers make to make the game available on the platform.
