Supercell has provided a detailed overview of the updates and plans they have in mind for Brawl Stars in 2026.
Supercell has outlined what they have in store for Brawl Stars in 2026 during their annual roadmap. They provide interesting insight into the direction they wish to take with the action-packed MOBA title and how they aim to keep players engaged.
It covers a range of topics, ranging from improvements to Ranked to striking a balance between permanent and limited-time additions, and the need to improve current game mechanics.
Brawl Stars' General Manager Frank explained all these key plans both in fleshed-out and loose detail. He stressed that the lack of an overall structure in these plans is because they are not guaranteed to be implemented. They are subject to change, and thus, may be postponed to a later date or canceled entirely.
This is NOT a Roadmap video!

Ultimately, the general goal that Supercell has in mind with whatever they pursue is to "make a great game for you that's fun and engaging, and allows us to grow Brawl Stars even further."
Improving the Quality of Ranked
In 2025, Supercell overhauled the Ranked Mode to feel "more approachable" for the casual player. It worked, as it improved play time and the number of returning players. However, Supercell is still not happy with the state of Ranked, as they believe that more can be done for the more veteran and hardcore players, who primarily play Ranked to compete.
Supercell confirmed they are "currently reviewing" Ranked with the intention of not reworking the mode, but instead, focusing on the quality of life for Ranked. With these potential changes, they wish to make it more appealing for competitive players and open the door for more input from the community.
Better Balance Between Permanent Features And Events
In 2026, Supercell aims to have a better balance between introducing game-improving features and limited-time events to Brawl Stars. They have confirmed that they have two separate teams working to ensure that there is stability between the two. Guiding them, as Frank stated, is a desire to "release features that are polished and meet the quality bar we and you expect."
Superell also plans to host events nearly every month and to introduce new/refreshed systems and features to the game. The team is currently working on a schedule that will allow them to deliver updates more frequently. Frank confirmed that they may experiment with monthly content/updates in the second half of 2026.
Touching upon events, Frank maintained that they have been key in keeping Brawl Stars players engaged and returning for more. That said, future events will continue to feature big IP crossovers and, potentially, smaller collaborations that could see special Skins be introduced to the game.
Experimenting With More Story-Driven Elements
One of Supercell's best events in 2025 was the Battle for Katana Kingdom event, as it told a continuous story that captured players' attention. For 2026, the team wants to experiment more with narrative-driven elements. This may result in events "stretching over multiple months."
This desire for more storytelling in Brawl Stars has long been an idea since a prototype for a story mode was canceled in 2023, after it was deemed not to be good enough.
Making Cosmetics Feel More Exciting
The overall identity of cosmetics is being assessed by Supercell. Currently, players find receiving cosmetics, such as Skins and Sprays, not as rewarding as they used to be, given how easy it can be for players to obtain them. For example, Pins have become less exciting, as there are lots of them, but there are only a limited number of Pin slots that players can fill with them.
Subsequently, Bling — the currency Supercell introduced to Brawl Stars to explicitly help players obtain cosmetics — has become less useful. The result is players sitting on mountains of unused Bling, despite them having options in the Catalog.
Skin Rarities can be confusing or unclear to players, which can result in issues surrounding their value and pricing. This will also be looked into for the coming year.
Keeping An Eye on Trophy Road
The Trophy Road has undergone a few changes over the past year, with Prestige playing a focal point in these updates. Moving forward, Supercell will keep a close eye on this side of the game as "a lot is going on," and they will introduce changes if they believe it will help.
Altogether, the roadmap for Brawl Stars in 2026 is quite extensive, as it covers bases from both gameplay and traditional balancing. It also confirms what we already know, and that's Supercell's desire to keep gameplay exciting and ensure that the community plays an important role in deciding the game's direction.
Again, however, these 2026 plans serve more as a guideline of what to expect in the coming year, and should not be treated as plans set in stone.
