Clash Royale's April 2026 update is full of new surprises.
Season 82 will land in Clash Royale on April 6, and it will bring with it a whole slew of new additions.
The most notable additions are the new Hero and the Card Evolution. The Hero Balloon transforms into a versatile troop that can not only target enemy buildings but also defend itself by spawning a Skeletrooper.
Meanwhile, the Minion Horde Evolution is an offensive card that takes the Minion Horde's capabilities to a whole new level by offering it the chance to gain temporary invincibility.

On top of all this, Season 82 will feature a new event called Balloon Festival. Players can participate in the event's many challenges to earn a limited-time currency that can be used to unlock various seasonal and non-seasonal items.
Summon Skeletroopers With the Hero Balloon
The Hero Balloon, like the regular Balloon, targets buildings and will deal explosive damage upon its death.

However, the Hero Balloon comes with a 2-Elixir ability known as Coffin Cadets. Activating it will deploy a flying Skeletrooper onto the battlefield. This troop will target the closest ground troop or building and deal damage upon landing. After it lands, it will deal damage with its melee attacks.
If there are no enemies nearby, the Skeletrooper will drop right below the Hero Balloon and join the fight.
Overwhelm Opponents With the Evo Minion Horde
The Minion Horde Evolution possesses the 1-cycle passive ability known as Horde Immunity. This ability enables a Minion to become untargetable and immune to damage for a few seconds the moment it takes damage. While in this state, the Evo Minion Horde can still move and attack, but it has a reduced attack and movement speed.

The important thing to note is that this invincibility is only given to the minion that takes the damage, and not the Horde as a whole. This ability will not be triggered if the Horde is taken out in one sweeping blow, such as a Fireball.
For those keeping tabs, the Minion Horde Evolution is the first Card Evolution to be added to Clash Royale since the Royal Hog Evolution was introduced in November 2025.
Unlock Items by Participating in the Balloon Festival
The Balloon Festival is a limited-time event that will take place during Season 82 of Clash Royale.
During the festival, players can collect a special currency, known as Balloon Tokens, by playing monthly events. These Tokens can be spent in the Festival Market to unlock items, such as Chests, seasonal cosmetics, and Gems.
The exact duration of the Balloon Festival and details of the monthly challenges available during the event are still unknown at the moment. More information will be available upon the update's release at the start of Season 82.
