Chest Keys Will Be Removed From Clash Royale in March

Clash Royale will be saying goodbye to one of its Magic Items, the Chest Key, in March 2025.

Since its introduction to Clash Royale alongside other useful Magic Items, the Chest Key has become a popular item to have in a player's inventory. Why? Because of its powerful ability to skip a Chest's unlock timer. That means anyone with one of these can instantly open a Chest that would have otherwise made them wait a whole day before doing so.

Sadly, it seems like the Chest Key's time in the sun has come to an end. Supercell has announced they will be gradually phasing out its presence in Clash Royale over the coming months.

How will this look like? Rolling out at the start of the January season, Chest Keys will be removed from Shop Offers and the rewards you can get in the Diamond Pass Royale. Then, by the end of March, they will be completely removed from the game and, in effect, from everyone's inventory if they still have one.

In the meantime, we think it's fair to say that you should start using all of your Chest Keys as soon as possible! We suggest you spend them on unlocking Chests with a lengthy unlocking time such as the Royal Wild Chest and Overflowing Gold Crate.

Supercell assures players that while they're permanently removing Chest Keys from the game, they are doing so because they are making space for the arrival of new features. How and what they look like is something we're unsure of. However, we'll certainly see them arrive later in 2025.
