On Wednesday, February 18, a Reddit user posted a Finnish retailer listing for The Duskbloods on the Nintendo Switch 2 Sub Reddit, where the game's release date appeared as March 27th.

Update: The retailer has changed the date to a placeholder, December 31, 2026.

Following that, we also heard rumours about the same release date appearing on the Australian eShop. However, later, when we checked it ourselves, the release was set to 2026 with no exact date.

Third-party retailers are known for posting a placeholder release date for games, especially for Nintendo's titles, and they are often not true.

One of the most recent examples is Borderlands 4 Nintendo Switch 2 port, which, according to Gaming Replay’s listing, was set to arrive on Friday, February 27.

However, later, during Take Two Interactive's investor call, we learnt that the development on the Switch 2 port for the game was stopped.

That said, there's definitely something going on behind the scenes. Why? Because Nintendo Australia was seen promoting The Duskbloods' ad on Reddit.

This, along with the recent leaks and the fact that Kadokawa did confirm in their recent Financial Report that The Duskbloods is still set for a 2026 release, is hinting towards a possible new announcement.

On that note, here are some of the new screenshots for the game that appeared on the internet:
