The Elder Scrolls: Blades will permanently shut down on June 30, 2026, according to an announcement from Bethesda. The game has since been delisted from all app stores, marking an abrupt end to its six-year run.

From now until its closure, all in-game items will be available for 1 Gem or 1 Sigil each. Additionally, all players will receive a free bundle of Gems and Sigels.

The developers thanked their community and hoped that they "enjoyed your time in Blades."

The free-to-play action RPG was first released in 2020 to generally negative critical reviews. One review on Metacritic described the game as a "simple dungeon crawler, with a nice progression system, but with repetitive gameplay during expeditions." Other reviews claim heavy use of microtransactions and a lack of innovation as its shortcomings.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades is one of three titles from The Elder Scrolls franchise to be currently available on mobile. The Elder Scrolls: Legends was a collectible card game with turn-based matches that was shut down in early 2025.

Meanwhile, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a simulation management mobile game where players rule over a dynasty over several generations. It is still available to download and play today.
