It's official—Level 16 is coming to Clash Royale in the upcoming November update.
For over two years, the highest card level in Clash Royale has been Level 15. It was introduced in 2023 and allowed players to improve their cards' abilities and effectiveness in matches. Now, in 2025, Supercell will be introducing the next one: Level 16.
It will debut in the game after the next major update, which is scheduled for November 24, 2025. It will arrive alongside other key changes, such as the removal of the Elite Wild Card system and the restructuring of the entire card progression system.
These important adjustments will make upgrading cards as a whole, from low levels to higher ones, much more accessible to the entire community.
How Much Does It Cost to Upgrade a Card to Level 16?
With the revamped progression system lowering the card requirements and leveling up costs, upgrading your cards to Level 16 in Clash Royale will require fewer resources.
Here is the upgrade cost for Level 16 across all card rarities:
| Rarity | Cost to Upgrade to Level 16 |
| Common | 120,000 |
| Rare | 120,000 |
| Epic | 120,000 |
| Legendary | 120,000 |
| Champion | 120,000 |
Meanwhile, here are the number of cards required to upgrade your cards to Level 16:
| Rarity | Cards Needed to Upgrade to Level 16 |
| Common | 7,500 |
| Rare | 1,400 |
| Epic | 180 |
| Legendary | 20 |
| Champion | 15 |
All in all, reaching Level 16 is relatively more affordable for the average player.
What Else Happens After the Update?
After the removal of Elite Wild Cards, extra copies of maxed-out cards will be converted into a new currency known as Crystals. These can be used to purchase cosmetics from the Shop, such as exclusive emotes.
Additionally, cards in Ranked Mode will remain capped at Level 15 for six months after the update is released. Level 16 will become the new level cap for Ranked in Clash Royale after the May 2026 season begins.
Also, something worth noting is that if you're in the middle of upgrading your cards from Level 14 to Level 15, then don't fret. The Elite Wild Cards that have gone to partially upgrade your card will be converted into equivalent copies of the card, which will mirror your exact progress to Level 15.
