Say goodbye to Lucky Drops, as they'll be replaced with Lucky Chests in the next Clash Royale update.

You heard that right—Lucky Drops will be removed from Clash Royale. They will officially be replaced by a new random-reward item, known as Lucky Chests, in the October update.
Lucky Drops were first introduced to the game in the March 2024 update. At the time, Supercell argued that they were meant to offer players a new way to earn rewards, like Cards and cosmetics.

Lucky Chests Promise to Offer "Guaranteed Rewards"
There are three types of Lucky Chests: Common, Magic, and Seasonal. As you might have expected, each type offers different rewards.
- Common Lucky Chests: Contain Cards and Gold (3 Spins)
- Magic Lucky Chests: Contains Cards, Gold, Magic Items, and cosmetics (4 Spins)
- Seasonal Lucky Chests: Items vary depending on the season. For example, they can offer Cards, Evolution Shards, and cosmetics
Supercell revealed the first two Seasonal Lucky Chests, the Haunted Lucky Chest and Phantom Lucky Chest, which will be making their way to the game in October. They will offer players a selection of Cards, cosmetics, and Evolution Shards for the Skeleton Army and Royal Ghost.
In essence, Lucky Chests are nearly identical to Lucky Drops, as they offer similar rewards and require spins to determine the items.

However, the community is somewhat divided over them. Players on Reddit believe that the problem with boxes isn't the items in them but the low chances of getting good rewards. They're skeptical whether Lucky Chests will resolve this despite Supercell stating they will offer "guaranteed rewards."
Supercell has been experimenting with the rewards system in Clash Royale over the past few weeks. Most recently, they tested with the Battle Rewards system to "learn which rewards feel the most fun and exciting to earn." This led to different groups of items being tested between August and September.
