Version 2.3.26 "Deviant Update"
The Deviant update arrives on Thursday, March 26, and introduces new Deviant enemies and encounters along with new mechanics and gameplay features.
The Deviant encounters in particular include:
- Devourer
- Mimic Tree
- Sea Slug
Sound-Based Encounters of Devourer
The Devourer encounter will feature an audio-driven mechanic to manage the enemy's aggro and use it to take out nearby enemies.
The Deceptive Mimic Tree
The Mimic Tree encounters will be limited to the groves and forest areas where these new Deviants disguise themselves among regular trees.
When you are near one, you are afflicted with a debilitating debuff that distorts sight and sound. Taking out the Mimic Tree clears a 50m radius area, yielding wood from nearby trees without needing to chop them down manually.
The Aquatic Ambush of the Sea Slug
The Sea Slug encounters are limited to water bodies. You can defeat one only by attacking its mouth when it's open. That said, the deviant also has a face-hugger attack in which it latches onto a player's head.
If you are hit with it, you can use a fire source or other players to get rid of it.
