On Thursday, February 26, Digital Foundry published their 'Switch 2 Analysis vs PS5/Series S' video for Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 port, where John and Oliver talked about the game's performance, image quality, and other aspects, and how it compares to the Xbox and PlayStation versions.

Long story short, the port is impressive and, in fact, offers a better image quality than the Xbox Series S, as it runs on a higher resolution. And, if you are wondering about the framerate, it's unlocked, and it ranges from 35 to 50, with Docked Mode aiming for 60.

The loading time on Switch 2 is also quick and impressive. During the analysis, John said:

Series S does run at a much lower resolution. But in the other areas, it does actually have some of the features that aren’t on Switch 2. For instance, you get the higher detailed character models.

Meanwhile, Oliver was more impressed by how well the Switch 2 port compares to the PS5 version. He said:

If the Switch 2 version can compare all right against PS5, that’s quite an accomplishment. And I actually think, by and large, it does look fairly similar to PS5.

The same cannot be said about the Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, as, despite being a fresh port, other than the FPS, it almost does everything wrong.

On the other side, Capcom's Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 port, as the folks at Digital Foundry said, "it's certainly up there with the best graphical experiences."

Overall, John suggested, “If you want better frame rate, go Series S. If you want slightly better image quality, go Switch 2.”
