Steal A Brainrot is an upcoming movie based on the viral Roblox experience that exploded across TikTok, YouTube, and just about every meme-heavy corner of the internet.

If you haven’t heard of it yet, Steal A Brainrot first started as a multiplayer game on the Roblox platform. The game launched in 2025 and quickly became one of the biggest experiences on the platform, attracting massive player counts and billions of visits. At one point, it even set a record for most concurrent players for a Roblox game at 25.8 million.

The premise of the game is simple but chaotic, which is exactly why it took off. Players collect and protect meme-like characters called “Brainrots,” which generate in-game income over time. But here’s the twist: other players can raid your base and steal them. That loop of collecting, defending, and stealing from rivals is the core of the entire gameplay experience.

The characters themselves are inspired by surreal internet memes sometimes referred to as “Italian brainrot,” which explains the bizarre humor and chaotic energy the game is known for. That same meme-driven vibe is expected to carry over into the movie adaptation.

As first reported by Deadline, the film adaptation is currently in development through a partnership between the game’s owners, Do Big Studios and Spyder Games, and a production company, Story Kitchen, that specializes in adapting games for film. Story Kitchen is also developing a film adaptation of another Roblox game, Grow A Garden.

While full plot details are still under wraps, it’s safe to assume the movie will lean heavily into the absurd internet culture that made the original Roblox experience blow up in the first place.

A release date has also yet to be confirmed.

Part of what makes this project stand out is how it mirrors a bigger shift in entertainment. Games that start on platforms like Roblox aren’t just staying online anymore — they’re breaking into the mainstream. In fact, the Steal A Brainrot's pop culture reach was on full display when global superstar Bruno Mars hosted a one-day-only concert in early 2026.

In the past, these were mostly small community-driven experiences, but now some of them are so massive that studios see real potential for movies and TV adaptations.
