Tower Troops are at the heart of your Towers' defenses in Clash Royale. There are several options for you to pick from, and, depending on the troop selected, you'll either have more defensive capabilities from your Tower or a more offensive one. Overall, Tower Troops can have a massive influence on how you build both your decks and battle strategies.

There are currently four Tower Troops in the roster. As you can only choose one per deck, picking the right one can be a tough decision. So, with that in mind, we've put together a tier list ranking all the Tower Troops available in the current roster. This should help you figure out where each one stands compared to the others and, hopefully, decide which is the perfect one for your deck.

All Tower Troops in Clash Royale, Ranked

The rankings of our tier list were decided by a few important factors: the Tower Troop's defensive capabilities, how much of an impact they can have in your deck, and how well they tend to perform in the current meta. We've also considered how much of an effect the recent November balance changes have had on them.

There are four tiers in our tier list. The S-tier is at the top and, as its position might suggest, showcases the most powerful Tower Troop in Clash Royale at the moment. They're strong performers in the current meta, and can often be what you'll need to effectively defend your Tower.

The A-tier houses decent Tower Troops, who are great picks in their own right. They're solid alternatives for those in the S-tier, and can very much be relied upon as the last line of defense for your Towers.

B-tier Tower Troops are somewhat of a mixed bag. Their effectiveness in combat, both in defensive and offensive respects, can be inconsistent, as they're not too strong individually. That said, you may need to structure your deck in a way that can elevate its presence on the battlefield.

Finally, the F-tier houses the weakest Tower Troops in the game. Their effectiveness is, unfortunately, quite poor, so it's best you opt for another pick for your Tower.

Here is our Tower Troop tier list in detail:

STower Princess
ADagger Duchess
BRoyal Chef

We'll adjust the rankings of this tier list after each season update, as new balance changes are introduced each time.

The best Tower Troop in the current meta is the Tower Princess.

Yes, we know she's the default Tower Troop in Clash Royale, but sometimes you can't go wrong with the original. As the game describes her, she's the 'gold standard for Tower Troops' because she can easily handle incoming attacks with her solid damage output.

Her steady rate of fire, compared to the rapid (though limited) attack speed of the Dagger Duchess, means she can deal with both single units and large swarms relatively well. The Tower Princess is easily the most versatile Tower Troop that you can rely on, no matter the meta.

Worst Tower Troops in Clash Royale

Cannoneer Clash Royale

Sadly, the least powerful Tower Troop is the Cannoneer.

One of the main reasons behind this is their low rate of fire. The current meta sees a lot of bait and cycle decks that capitalize on swarming their enemies and Towers with large groups of units. With the Cannoneer's hit speed being once every 2.2 seconds, your Towers won't be able to effectively defend themselves against many popular strategies.

We must say that one of the positives of the Cannoneer is the insanely high damage it can inflict with a single shot. This makes it quite formidable against high-HP units.
