The Tower Princess is the default Tower Troop in the game. It's a single-target, long-ranged Troop that can attack both ground and air units. With her decently high HP and super steady rate of fire, she can be relied upon to go against most deck types. The Tower Princess may be basic, but she's certainly capable.

If you're looking for a Tower Troop that can deal significant damage, then the Cannoneer is your guy. This single-target, long-range Troop can attack both ground and air units. However, the high damage output comes at the cost of a rather slow rate of fire. The Cannoneer is ideal for countering low-count, low-HP units, but can be weak against swarms.

The Dagger Duchess is a single-targe, long-range Tower Troop that can attack ground and air units. What separates her from the rest is that her rate of fire is extremely fast. This means she excels at countering low-HP enemy swarms. The downside to her rapid attacks is that it is limited by her attack bar. Each attack drains this bar, and she'll need to gradually recover to begin attacking quickly again. The recovery time is rather slow, so you may be at a disadvantage against baits or high-HP troops.

Unlike other Tower Troops, the Royal Chef is the only one who can also upgrade troops to a higher level. He does so by throwing pancakes, which take some time to cook, at the friendly unit. Only troops who haven't received a pancake before, aren't below 33% HP, and aren't buildings will be capable of being buffed by a pancake. Overall, the Royal Chef is great if you think your troops are a little underpowered and so need a little help on the battlefield. He's not exactly the best defensively, so fair warning.
