Legends Of Runeterra Patch 3.16: Buffs And Nerfs

New buffs and nerfs will be introduced to Legends of Runeterra in patch 3.16. Let's take a look at all of them.

A new patch is here in Legends of Runeterra! Patch 3.16 has seen the developers reveal various hard-hitting changes. These changes will shine the light on Daybreak, introduce new deck-building strategies with Fearsome, and disrupt the meta with a heavy hand of buffs and nerfs.

Patch 3.16 is a breath of fresh air for Legends of Runeterra. The game has remained relatively unchanged since the release of patch 3.13. There were only minor card adjustments in patch 3.14 and bug fixes in patch 3.15, so the meta hasn't seen any significant changes since mid-August.

Patch 3.16 has been released as of September 28 and, as we mentioned before, has introduced a variety of new changes to Legends of Runeterra. Here are all of them in detail.

In total, 27 cards were buffed in patch 3.16 of Legends of Runeterra. This includes champions such as Master Yi, Ornn, and Tahm Kench.

Leona
  • Cost increased from 4 mana → 5 mana
  • Removed Overwhelm (on leveled up version), added Challenger keyword (to both versions)
  • Leveled up version card text changed to "Daybreak or when you activate another Daybreak: Stun the strongest enemy and give me Barrier this round"
Magical Journey
  • The number of Chimes planted reduced from 3 → 1
  • Card text changed to "Plant a portal randomly in the top 4 cards of your deck and plant a chime on the top card of your deck"
Master Yi
  • Cost reduction from the Round Start effect is now permanent
Morning Light
  • Cost reduced from 5 mana → 3 mana
  • Buff reduced from "+2|+2 this round" → "+1|+1 this round"
  • Card text changed from "Daybreak: Activate all ally Daybreak effects at once" → "Active an ally's Daybreak effect"
Nocturne
  • Level-up text changed to include attacks from both Nightfall and Fearsome allies
Ornn
  • Level up ally strike damage reduced from 10+ → 8+
Realm's Caretaker
  • Base stats increased from 4|4 → 4|5
Ripper's Bay
  • Card text changed from "When allies attack, before Lurk tries to activate, obliterate the top card of your deck if it doesn't have Lurk" → "When allies attack, before triggering Lurk, grant the top ally in your deck Lurk and it becomes a Lurker"
Ritual of Renewal
  • Cost reduced from 7 mana → 4 mana
  • Nexus heal reduced from 7 → 4
Shrieking Spinner
  • Base stats decreased from 2|5 → 2|4
  • Spider ally buff increased from +1|+0 → +2|+0
Solari Stellacorn
  • Cost reduced from 5 mana → 4 mana
  • Base stats reduced from 4|6 → 3|4
  • Daybreak text changed from "Heal all allies 3" → "Give other allies +0|+2 this round
Sunburst
  • Cost reduced from 6 mana → 5 mana
Sun Guardian
  • Cost reduced from 6 mana → 3 mana

  • Removed Overwhelm keyword

  • Overwhelm gained on level 2
Tahm Kench
  • Card text (on both levels) changed from "Round start: Create an An Acquired Taste in hand" → "When I'm summoned or Round Start: Create an An Acquired Taste in hand"
The Leviathan
  • Cost reduced from 8 mana → 7 mana
  • Base stats reduced from 5|8 → 5|7
  • Round start text changed from "Deal 1 to the enemy Nexus 3 times" → "Deal 1 to the enemy Nexus twice"
The Papertree
  • +1|+0 buff now applies to Attachment instead of the ally
The Twisted Treeline
  • Card text changed to include both Fearsome and Nightfall allies
Vilemaw
  • New Fearsome keyword
  • Card text now includes "Other Fearsome allies have +1|+0"
Windsinger
  • New Elusive keyword
  • Base stats reduced from 4|3 → 3|3

Several bug fixes were deployed in patch 3.16 of Legends of Runeterra.

These are:

  • Fixed a crash caused when equipping a unit with Darkin Harpoon when that unit is already equipped.
  • Fixed a bug with Kayn’s origin.
  • Fixed a crash attributed to Previsualization.
  • Fixed an issue with Hidden Pathways’ cost reduction and choice cards.
  • Fixed an issue with choice cards being discounted twice in Path of Champions.
  • Fixed a bug with Sharesies incorrectly referring to equipped allies instead of attachmthe ent.
  • Fixed a crash when attempting to buff a darkin unit in hand.
  • Fixed a bug with Greenglade Caretaker and Ki Guardian’s interaction.
  • Fixed an issue with glorious evolution and choice cards.
  • Fixed an issue with Darkness in mirror matchups incorrectly showing the amount of damage dealt.
  • Fixed an issue with Boomship and Sanctum Conservator’s interaction.
  • Fixed an issue with Evolve not counting for units taken from the opponent.
  • Fixed an issue with Champions not gaining level-up progress when overflowing.
  • Fixed multiple issues with activating effects for cards in overflow in backrow.
  • Fixed a bug with Attach units’ card fan.
  • Removed plunder from Powder Pandemonium.
  • Fixed an issue where playing 2 burst spells that create cards in a row would sometimes cause one of the created cards to not be played correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where certain cards were not allowed in decks for the Lab “Welcome to the Jungle.”
