The mobile version of Bungie's Destiny franchise, Destiny: Rising" has finally been announced for Android and iOS platforms.

After years of rumors suggesting Bungie is working on a mobile version of Destiny, the game has finally been announced as Destiny: Rising, a free-to-play sci-fi RPG set in the Destiny universe.
However, instead of Bungie, the creators of Diablo Immortal, Once Human, and other big mobile titles, NetEase Games have taken the mantle to develop the game for Android and iOS platforms.
Long gone are the days when NetEase Games was trying to leverage the Battle Royale genre with games like Rules of Survival.

At present, NetEase Games is one of the veteran mobile game developers and publishers that has delivered high-quality mobile and even multiplatform titles that we all love to play.
As a result, when Destiny: Rising was announced through a YouTube video published on October 14, 2024, the community response was primarily positive.
Now, as a player myself who has invested thousands of hours in Destiny 2, the fact that Destiny: Rising looks way better than the main game and looks more fun is both good and sad at the same time.
But that's a whole different story!

Moving back to the topic, as mentioned earlier, Destiny: Rising is set in the Destiny Universe but will not follow the current story and will explore a different route.
Here's a brief on the game's setting:
Destiny: Rising delves into an unseen era where burgeoning hope blooms once again after a terrifying collapse of civilization and the dangers of the resulting Dark Age. With the help of legendary Iron Lords, humanity has broken free the shackles of tyranny and began to rally together against the alien forces intent on its extinction. Amidst the chaos of this early age for The City, a new generation of Lightbearers, resurrected by mysterious entities known as Ghosts, set out to restore humanity's prominence and secure its future.

That aside, here is what Ethan Wang, Senior Vice President, NetEase, Inc., had to say about NetEase Games partnership with Bungie in developing Destiny: Rising:
With Destiny: Rising, NetEase Games is honored to partner with Bungie to deliver a Destiny-caliber experience to mobile devices.
He continued:
Destiny is an incredible franchise with a passionate and dedicated global fanbase. As huge fans ourselves, we are humbled and thrilled for the opportunity to bring gamers an action-packed RPG shooter set within the Destiny Universe.

On the other hand, Terry Redfield, the Creative Lead at Bungie, said:
For over a decade, we have built this universe to contain many unique and wonderful stories, and we are excited to see mobile gamers be able to experience this new take on the Destiny universe from the creative team at NetEase.

Here is a summary of the different features Destiny: Rising will offer:
- First-person and third-person modes
- A variety of PvP and PvE game modes
- Legendary Characters (The usual three Classes, Titan, Warlock, and Hunter)
- Campaign
- 6-player co-op Strikes
- Open-world exploration (A variety of sci-fi biomes)
- Exotic weapons
The above are just a few key features the game will offer. NetEase Games has managed to deliver high-quality mobile games, and there is no doubt they will successfully meet the expectations of the mobile gaming community, which has been long waiting for a Destiny game.
