The latest update in Wild Rift, patch 4.3, has been stellar so far. From the launch of the Tag Duel game mode to the arrival of new faces, the game is in what many might call an ideal place right now... or that's what you may think if you're not the devs.

In a surprise move, Riot has deployed a hotfix that directly nerfs two champions that have been deemed to be overpowered: Lux and Soraka.

After her rework, Lux has been "overperforming" in the mid and baron lane. To give other players a fighting chance, her passive and second ability has been nerfed. Riot hopes that this will make Lux choose between protecting herself or her teammates.

Here are the nerfs that have hit Lux:

  • Illumination damage decreased from 32 + Level × 8 + 25% Ability Power → 25 + Level × 7 + 25% Ability Power.
  • Prismatic Barrier cooldown increased from 11/10/9/8 seconds → 12/11/10/9 seconds.
  • Prismatic Barrier shield gained from the first cast rescaled from 40/75/110/145 + 10% Ability Power → 30/55/80/105 + 15% Ability Power.
  • Prismatic Barrier shield gained from the second cast rescaled from 80/150/220/290 + 20% Ability Power → 48/88/128/168 + 24% Ability Power.
Soraka Hotfix

Soraka benefited greatly from patch 4.3 balance changes where updates to runes and her kit made her healing power and survivability too strong. So, the hotfix aims to bring these power levels down.

Here are the nerfs that have hit Soraka:

  • Base armor decreased from 35 → 31.
  • Armor per level decreased from 4.7 → 4.
  • Astral Infusion healing effect decreased from 70/110/150/190 + 70% Ability Power → 50/85/120/155 + 55% Ability Power.

Riot believes these changes will bring both of them down to a level that stabilizes the Wild Rift meta.
