We'll show you all the key details about the upcoming November 2025 update for Clash Royale.
The November 2025 update will go down in history as either one of the best or one of the worst updates Clash Royale has ever seen.
That's because it's a type of update we rarely see from Supercell. It's not just another round of card tweaks or minor adjustments, but a full-blown progression and economy overhaul that will reshape how you climb, upgrade, and strategize in the game.
Familiar mechanics, like the long-standing Elite Wild Card system, are being retired, Books and Magic Coins are being phased out, and the introduction of Level 16 opens up a new upgrade ceiling.
Meanwhile, major structural changes lurk just beneath the surface: a revamped Trophy Road, an upcoming 2v2 League mode, and a mysterious 'heroic' addition that Supercell still hasn’t fully explained. The update is slated for a release on November 24th, 2025.
Level 16 Is Coming to Clash Royale
Arguably, the biggest piece of news coming from this update is the reveal of Level 16. It's been over two years since Level 15 was introduced to the game, so it's about time a new upgrade ceiling was added for cards. Level 16 will improve your card's stats and effectiveness in combat, so you'll certainly want to upgrade your card to this new level as soon as possible.
The community's sentiment towards this new level has been rather mixed, as was the case with Level 15, because many players are worried about the upgrade requirements.
With that in mind, here are the gold requirements to upgrade your cards to Level 16:
| Rarity | Cost to Upgrade to Level 16 |
| Common | 120,000 Gold |
| Rare | 120,000 Gold |
| Epic | 120,000 Gold |
| Legendary | 120,000 Gold |
| Champion | 120,000 Gold |
On the other hand, here is the number of cards required to upgrade your cards to Level 16:
| Rarity | Cards Needed to Upgrade to Level 16 |
| Common | 7,500 |
| Rare | 1,400 |
| Epic | 180 |
| Legendary | 20 |
| Champion | 15 |
In Ranked Mode, Level 15 will remain the maximum level, but only for the first six months after Level 16's release. This means that cards will be capped at Level 16 only after the May 2026 season.
Elite Wild Cards, Books & Magic Coins Will Be Phased Out
For the longest time, the Clash Royale community has never been fully satisfied with the way the card progression system has worked. Some argue that it requires too many resources, while others claim that the entire upgrading process didn't feel as rewarding as it should be.
So, Supercell is going 'back to basics' and removing items they deem to have made progression too complicated or unnecessary. This means that Elite Wild Cards (and the entire Elite Level system), Books of all rarities, and Magic Coins will be taken away from the game in the coming update. They will be converted into different types of currencies and cards upon their removal.
Here are the conversion rates for Books:
| King Tower Level | Common Wild Cards per Common Book | Rare Wild Cards per Rare Book | Epic Wild Cards per Epic Book | Legendary Wild Cards per Legendary Book | Gems per Book of Books |
1 | 100 | 20 | 10 | 4 | 400 |

| 15 | 120,000 |
Elite Wild Cards will be converted into Gems, but the conversion rate has not been shared by Supercell yet.
Major Changes to Card & Gold Requirements for Upgrades
In response to the community's feedback about the progression system being too demanding, the November update will introduce adjustments that will reduce the card and Gold upgrade requirements, particularly in the mid levels. These changes should hopefully make the card upgrading process more affordable, especially for free-to-play players.

A New Currency Known As Crystals Will Be Added
Crystals are a new currency that you can expect to find in Clash Royale after the update. Little is known about it at the moment, with Supercell promising that information about it will be shared closer to the update's launch.
What we know so far about Crystals is that, like Gold and Gems, you can use them to purchase cosmetics from the in-game Shop. A set of exclusive emotes will be available at the start of the update. You can earn Crystals from overflow copies of maxed-out cards.
