Since releasing the development roadmap for Marvel Snap in 2023, the devs have made significant progress to live up to their exhaustive list of promises. They released the long-awaited name change feature and Friendly Battle mode.

It seems like the motto for the team is "onwards and upwards" as they've recently come out with an updated roadmap and as you might have guessed there's more to look forward to in the next few months.

Set to arrive in Marvel Snap soon are a new competitive game mode, improvements to how players can obtain new cards, a revamp to the Token Shop, and ranked mode changes. Let's dive into it all.

New Game Mode, Token Shop Changes, And Card Improvements Coming Soon

The most exciting is the new competitive game mode: Conquest. It's best described as a ranked version of the casual Friendly Battle mode. You'll have to advance through various leagues (Proving Grounds, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Vibranium, and Infinite) by earning Tickets from winning matches. 'Medals' will also be rewarded and you can spend these at the new Conquest Shop.

Unlocking cards has always been a heated debate and there are limited ways to do so. The devs will be working on this by allowing players to claim one free Series 3 card every season and collect more Collector's Tokens from caches and reserves.

Speaking about Tokens, the Token Shop will also be broken up into a few different sections. One will be 'Weekly Spotlight' which features the latest cards and another will be an 'Ultimate Variant' section that displays variants. This is expected to arrive in either the March or April patch.

The devs have also committed to improving Ranked mode - particularly on the path of reaching the Infinite Rank. This and other minor matchmaking issues will be resolved in later patches.

Besides all this, the coming months will see more features. This includes a widescreen UI for PC players, Smart Decks, personalized shops, and global matchmaking.
